Watsu
Watsu is aquatic bodywork that combines gentle movement, stretching, joint mobilization, and intentional touch in warm water. The name comes from "water shiatsu." It was developed in the early 1980s by Harold Dull, who adapted Zen Shiatsu techniques for the water.
You are supported by your practitioner in chest-deep warm water, with your head cradled and your ears in the water. You are gently moved, rocked, and stretched. You do nothing but breathe and receive, and you don't need to know how to swim.

What a session looks like
Your practitioner supports you while the session unfolds through gentle rocking, stretching, and stillness. Everything adapts to your comfort, your breath, and your pace. Nothing is forced. The session closes by slowly reintroducing your body to gravity.
What clients often notice
Calm
The warm, supported setting and rhythmic movement invite many clients into a quieter, more meditative state.
Ease
Warmth and continuous support may help the body let go. Many clients describe a deep sense of relaxation.
Movement
Buoyancy takes pressure off the joints, which may allow more freedom of movement.
Rest
Some clients tell us they rest more deeply afterward, and some fall asleep during the session.
Experiences vary, and Watsu is not a substitute for medical care. Custom packages are available based on your needs and goals.
